HOW THE LFC BIODIGESTER WORKS
The LFC® biodigester is a commercial aerobic biodigester that decomposes food waste within 24 hours. It uses a series of processes in which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the presence of oxygen.

Organic Waste
Organic waste is segregated from other types of waste and placed into the LFC biodigester.

Microorganisms
A special blend of microorganisms from Powerzymes are housed in Powerchips.

Oxygen
Paddles in the LFC biodigester turn to add oxygen and begin aerobic digestion.

Digestion
Microorganisms eat the food waste and convert it into water.

Output
Discharged into waste stream.
This environmentally friendly food waste digester machine is a cost-effective and responsible way to dispose of food waste. The LFC biodigester takes discarded food in a commercial environment and transforms it into grey water that is safe to send to water treatment facilities. The food waste digester machine uses a series of processes that include microorganisms to break down food and transform it into liquid. There are no remaining solids to be emptied from the machine. The LFC biodigester is currently on the seventh generation build.

What can go in a biodigester?
It may be tempting to think of biodigesters as being similar to processes such as composting. The truth is, however, that a biodigester provides organizations with large food preparation areas far more flexibility than composting and other options for the disposal of food waste. In this blog, we review what can and cannot go into a biodigester.

Why Biodigesters are the Future of Food Waste Management
Today, more than a third of worldwide food production is lost or wasted each year, amounting to about 1.3 billion tons of waste food. Without change, experts predict that waste may grow to as much as 70% of all food by the year 2050. Digital technology must play a central role in identifying and preventing possible avenues of food waste. It’s for this reason that we believe onsite biodigesters will play a key role in the future of food waste management.

This makes it even more imperative that organizations of any scale commit to finding less impactful ways of disposing of food waste. You should be aware of each solution™s unique advantages and costs before you make an investment.
