Power Knot and EvoMarine Bring Sustainable Food Waste Solutions to Marine Ships

FREMONT, CA — Power Knot Ocean, the market leader for onboard organic waste management solutions in the marine environment, announced today that it has engaged EvoMarine to bring sustainable solutions for food waste to the maritime industry. EvoMarine, a leader in design, build, retrofit, and service installations across maritime, offshore, oil and gas, and energy sectors, brings extensive experience, having successfully completed over 1,000 projects globally.
The LFC biodigester is an advanced food waste management system that utilizes aerobic digestion to break down organic waste into water. By eliminating the need for traditional waste disposal methods, it significantly reduces operational costs and environmental impact.
Designed for seamless integration, the biodigester is typically installed in galleys or garbage rooms aboard vessels, offering an efficient and effective solution for waste processing. Available in nine different sizes, the LFC biodigester can process between 10 kg (20 lb) and 6000 kg (13,200 lb) of food waste per day, making it a scalable solution that meets the diverse needs of various maritime operations.
“By partnering with EvoMarine, we are expanding our ability to deliver advanced solutions for the management of food waste to the maritime industry in Miami, France, and Romania. Ships and offshore installations now have a reliable and sustainable alternative to conventional methods for the disposal of waste, reducing their environmental impact while optimizing operations. This partnership marks a significant step forward in achieving a cleaner, greener future for the marine sector,” said Iain Milnes, President of Power Knot.
With EvoMarine’s extensive expertise in marine engineering and Power Knot Ocean’s proven waste management solutions, this partnership sets a new industry standard for the disposal of food waste at sea.
